It is my understanding that 99051 would be appropriately used for "federal holidays' which include Jan 1, Jan. 20, February 17, May 26, July 4, September 1, October 13, November 11, November 27, and December 25 for 2014. Good luck on obtaining reimbursement for this adjunct code. MCR won't reimburse, and few commercial payers wll cover it. Wish they would. Providers utilizing this service keep folk out of the ER's and save the carriers a lot of money. Might want to have your provider negotiate this into their payer contracts in the future....worth a try!
