I have two questions regarding the Exam portion of the 97 guidelines. Would you count a point under the ENMT (*example fiber laryngoscopy) if the wording says "see procedure for findings." Also under ENMT, for the Exam by mirror of larynx/nasopharynx, if docs normally don't use the mirror, yet the procedure note indicates unable to adequately visualize with mirror", would you give a point for that or not?

Thanks

I would not give any "Data" credit for "see findings". The doc has to summerize what was on the other record to get credit. This is a data point, not exam point.

I would give credit, one bullet, for looking in the patient's throat. He may not have been able to see what he wanted, but he tried and must have seen something.

Hope this helps.
