Is the physician or NP on site at the time of the injection, and was this ordered at a previous encounter? Also check your state nursing laws as to the limitation on RNs and LPNs, barring any state objections an RN may administer IM injections in a physician office while the provider is on site.

In regards to the IM question of 96372. As long as the Depo was "ordered" by a Dr., PA. or NP. then the answer is Yes, the nurse can administer the injection and charge for the IM injection.
