Wiki 96127 and telehealth

Hello,

We are a telehealth only company. Our nurse practioners have always billed 96127 when interpreting the Vanderbilt assessment. Iowa Medicaid has recently told us this code was taken off the list of allowable telehealth codes as of 12/31/23, however CMS still allows this to be billed with POS 02. Does anyone have more information on this or know of a different code we can still use with POS 02?

If provider is a MD, NP, PA, DO, document the phone service use CPT 99441-99443 ensure add minutes on current document, verify pt.s demo info, assignment, SOAP notes. Add mode if phone call & minutes. Whereas if it is R Nurse or QHP or LPC OR LCSW add CPT codes 98966-98968 , document minutes and it is phone call. Now some modifiers 95 for Video or modifier 93 if phone call on Eva Mgtn CPT codes for new or est. pts 99202-99214...still document dx, sign meds, Etc. Only nurses and QMHP can use 99211 if phone add 93 or if video modifier 95. Telehealth guidelines from what I have learned.
