can anyone help me with these codes? i am new to this internal med practice from urology and unfamiliar, can these codes be split using the 26 modifier? the description states include laboratory procedure and interpretation of test results. the charge entry person said that they do this often and i am finding it being denied by commercial ins. I would like to bill correct.

The Procedures In Question Are Pulmonary Related Tests Done In The Office. If The Physician Is Performing The Test And Reading The Results There Would Be No Need For A Modifier 26. This Modifier Is Intended To Tell Them The Physician Service Is Separate Than The Technical Component. If He Is Doing Both You Would Not Need To Split. Hope I Understand Correctly.
