I am unable to find what specific documentation from the provider separates/identifies the VRA - 92579 from the standard comprehensive hearing test - 92557.

The provider's notes are identical, yet for some children he marks 92579 and some 92557.

Any help would be appreciated.

The physician performs a battery of tests to determine and evaluate hearing loss in infants and toddlers. Sound sources are used to evaluate the auditory response (with reinforcement by animated toys).

The bolded area will be your difference when choosing CPT 92579 or CPT 92557.

the VRA- 92579 is usually performed on much younger toddlers and infants.
