For CPT code 90792, what criteria needs to be met to be considered medical services?

These services will involve Medication Management and/or ordering further psych testing or diagnostics. Typically performed by a provider who can order medical treatment within their scope of practice.

Some states allow psychologists to write scripts, you would need to check your own state guidelines. 90791 is used for all other providers performing the service, without Medical care.
