When doing an Initial Assessment, sometimes our therapists don't finish the intake on the first visit due to either the complexity of the case, amount of information given, or several other reasons. They state that they will obtain additional information to complete the intake on the patient's next visit.
How do I bill this??
If the assessment was complete on the first visit, I'd obviously bill 90791. If the appointment was intended to perform an Initial Assessment, but the first assessment isn't complete, am I able to bill 90791?
If the therapist finishes up on the next visit, do I bill 90791 for that as well?
I know that I'm not the only one that has run into this, but I cant find a concrete answer.
