A doctor collects a specimen as in 88305 and sends it off to the lab to be prepped. The doctor is also credentialled to do pathology in their specialty so they are going to interpret the slide once it is prepped. The slide comes back a week or 2 later and the doctor interprets what's there and assigns the diagnosis. Should the doctor bill the 88305 using the collection date or the date they performed the examination/interpretation?
