This test is done on most of the well woman annual visits. The description for the code is blood occult performed for other than colorectal neoplasm screening. we are currently linking it with diagnosis V76.41 ( special screening for malignant neoplasms recutm) which we have been using forever. we are having increased number of denials and i don't know what other screening i would use since there aren't diagnostic reasons it's just a screening.

Any ideas or references i could look at?
 
Our office uses the Rapid Response FIT test and we use 82274(Commercial Insurances) and G0328 (Medicare) with dx of v76.51. I have had no denials using these codes.
 
I thought 82272 was performed for symptomatic patients. It's been years since we've billed any of these out.

If you're doing it for a screening, take a look at 88270?
