I am having a hard time with coding for healed fractures.

Ortho MD sees a patient as a consult in the hospital. He notes:
..."patient also noted to have old, healed R distal rad fx, L prox fib fx and old rib fractures"

I am coding for his consult to address new fractures sustained in an MVA, but am unsure how to code for the old fractures that are not symptomatic and for which he is not administering treatment. Specifically, what 7th character would I utilize for the old, healed fractures?

Thank you very much for your help.

Only the acute fractures resulting from the MVA require a S Code with 7 characters. The old, healed, and asymptomatic fractures from the past that he identified do not really warrant S Codes. These could be covered under/by Z87.81: Personal history of healed traumatic fracture.
