procedure done: bilateral iliac and inferior vena cava venography
the patient was brought into the operating room placed in supine position on the operating table. ..........vascular access to the left common iliac vein was gained with a 21 gauge needle. after gaining access a 0.014 wire was advanced into the vasculature. the needle was removed a small skin incision made and dilated, an the dilator catheter was advanced over the 0.035 angled glidewire was advanced into the vasculature and manipulated it into the inferior vena cava under fluro guidance. The catheter was removed and replaced with a 6-french sheath. at this time utilizing digital subtraction,venography of the left iliac system and inferior vena cava was performed. upon completion of that,a 5-french c1 guiding catheter was advanced over the wire and positioned in the inferior vena cava. It was pulled back and the right iliac was accessed., the wire was advanced and the catheter was advanced into the external iliac system. at this time an iliac venogram was then performed on the right.......
