Wiki 76942 & 76882 orthopedic surgeon

Does anyone bill 76942 for US guidance for needle aspirations/injections in an Orthopedic office?

BCBS will not reimburse our office for this saying no payment is allowed when performed by a provider in our specialty / orthopedic surgeons.

Also 76881.

Would like to know if anyone is having this same situation especially with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I do Hospital Coding and we use this for tracking purposes. The Anesthesia group we use bills 76942 so I believe it's anesthesia use only...

Our office is billing and receiving reimbursement for 76942, ultrasound guided needle. Your issue sounds like a contract problem. I would get a hold of the insurance and ask for the policy on this code.
