One of my global providers is charging 76536(US Soft Tissue) twice indicating that they are examining the Thyroid Gland and the Lymph Nodes separately. They dictate two separate reports from the same session. They do not dictate the amount of time spent to do this study.
At first I was coding both study's with a 59 on one of them. I don't think any of the new X codes are appropriate in this case. I am looking for opinions on using a 22 modifier on one report. In my opinion they should dictate both exams on the same report and dictate the amount of time. I am open to hearing any other suggestions from the group as well.
