Wiki 76377 billed separately?

I can across 76377 being billed separately (in an office setting). the Pt had a CT maxilla done 2 days before the 3D. They're doing the 3D on the CT that was done 2 days before. Can they bill for that separately, being it's on different days? the Insurance in Blue Cross. I searched for answers about this for almost a half hour and came up with nothing. please help!

76377 is not an add-on code, so could theoretically be coded on a separate day. I think I remember an article from ACR years ago saying that the reconstruction code was specifically made independent because it is sometimes done on a different day or at a different location.
Having said that, some payers do treat it as add-on and will not pay it without a same-day base procedure. I'd argue that by appeal if denied though.
