Hi All,

This has had me questioning the coding every time I see it. I'm wondering what everyone else thinks.

When a Dr. states:

placement of a 4 French Omni Flush catheter placed in the caudal abdominal
aorta. WIth the catheter in this position, pelvic angiography was
performed. The catheter was advanced across the aortic bifurcations to the
right external iliac artery. With the catheter in this position, right
lower extremity femoral runoff angiogram was performed inclusive of right
lateral foot and right lateral calf imaging.
When reporting the findings, the only thing he talks about on the left side is the external, internal, and common iliacs.

Would this make the use of 75716 acceptable, or should I use 75710?

I come across this situation a lot and am not comfortable using 75716 since he doesn't examine both sides beyond the iliacs.

I appreciate any thoughts you have on this.

Thank you,

I usually need to see up to the popliteal artery to say that a full extremity was performed. In your situation, I would bill 75710.
