I need help! When our pediatrician sees a newborn for a 99433 hosp subsequent visit and performs a circumcision 54150 on the same day, do I put the modifier on the E/M-25 or do I put a modifier on the procedure-59? Do I need to use a separate Dx code for the circumcision-V50.2? HELP!! I need a coding scenario explanation. Thank you.

I need someone's help as I cannot seem to find the answer to my question anywhere online. When billing the circumcision code 54150 and the CRNP signs it along with the physician, should it be billed? There is no linking statement provided by the physician just his signature and that of the CRNP. Thanks. :)

The way our billing system is set up, we would put the CRNP as the actual provider and then there is another field that we would put the Billing Physician's number in. That is how we do it where I work. You may have to check with your billers. Hope this helps!
