Wiki -53 modifier

Good morning,
I was just updated per my manager that the use of modifier -53 in not applicable when billing to United Healthcare for anesthesia only. Instead of paying the 25% rate they will pay the full rate. Thoughts??

I never understood how modifier 53 could be used with an anesthesia code and have never tried it.
