When a proctosigmaoidoscopy is done to check the anastomosis of a colectomy, is it appropriate to bill the 45300 -59?

When a procedure is done to 'check your work' then it is not billable thus I wouldn't and don't code 45300 with a colectomy

I was under the impression that 45300 can be billed with an open procedure. Am I wrong?

I don't think open or laparoscopic matters. I don't think it can be coded if it's just to check the anastomosis.
