I work for a payor and we received a claim with lab work (85610) and a venipuncture code 36415. The provider has indicated on the claim "PATIENT NOT PHYSICALLY PRESENT FOR SERVICVES". This is a claim from an independent lab. Can they bill for a venipuncture even if the patient is not present?
