do we use the 33 modifier on all colonoscopy procedures and not only on one if there are no biopsy's done. is it used on endoscopy's as well?

the 33 is used on any procedure that starts out as a preventive but then becomes diagnostic. So no you do not use it on every colonoscopy, only only the colonoscopy with........ when the colonoscopy was performed as a screening but then another form of the procedure had to be done due to an abnormality discovered while doing the screening.

If the patient has Medicare, you would use -PT modifier.
