Wiki 2nd consult additional stains added

I am inquiring about 2nd consults that come in from another hospital and were prepared elsewhere. If the slides were prepared elsewhere and already have IHC staining done to the specimens if our lab adds additional stains requested by the pathologist would we bill for the technical service? Do we use 88323 or would we ever bill G0461 since it is a Medicare patient.

We would bill this as 88323 (as opposed to 88321) because additional stains were done. We would also bill G0461 if the additional stain was an IHC.
