Hello! Can someone please provide some clarification? I am newer in the podiatry world.
I have a provider that preformed a metatarsal osteotomy on the 2nd and 3rd. One incision was made.
I was going to code 28308x2. To correct the alignment for one or more bones in foot.
In codify though it states "Use this code for each separate osteotomy on a metatarsal other than the first that the provider performs. If the provider performs multiple osteotomies in a single procedure, use 28309, Osteotomy, with or without lengthening, shortening or angular correction, metatarsal; multiple, e.g., Swanson type cavus foot procedure."
28309 is surgery to treat high foot arch by making multiple cuts in bones of foot.
here are the dxs for this report
1. Metatarsus adductus, left
2. Hammertoes 2 and 3, left
3. Dislocation toes 2 and 3, left foot
4. Metatarsus primus varus with hallux valgus, left foot
5. DJD, left foot
6. Contracture left foot
7. Painful hardware, left foot
8. Bone spur, left 5th metatarsal
9. Metatarsalgia, left foot
