I am in need of coding help in regards to billing CPT Codes: 23420 & 23130.
I already know that 23130 is a column 2 code for 23420 but per CCI edits a modifier is allowed in order to differentiate between the services provided. One of my Surgeons is telling me that these two codes cannot be billed together but I believe that they can.
23420 does include the Acromioplasty but if the Surgeon documents that they did an Acromionectomy, partial, with coracoacromial ligament release then I believe that they can add the 23130.
Can someone please give me feedback regarding this?
