Wiki 23 hour stay help!!!!!

One of my doctors were called into see another one of my doctors post op patients for a fever. The patient was admitted for a 23 hour stay. we are billing 99221 with a place of service as 21 in patient. i don't think this is right. does anyone else have a suggestion? thanks

23 hour keeper is OUTpatient...they keep hospital stay just under inpatient status.

I dont really know if you should bill consult - did your doc say it was unrelated to surgery - usually post op fever, chills ect......are monitored due to anesthesia/or infection issues??
