Wiki 19120 question

Our Plastic surgeon performed a bilateral excision of a breast cyst and we billed 19120 with 50 modifier. The doctor wants to code a complex closure with this. Can someone tell me if this can be coded or if the closure would be considered part of the procedure.

I do believe that the closure is inclusive and is not able to be billed separately.

I could suggest adding modifier 22 with a statement regarding complex closure rather than routine.
