Need help with all of an 11 yr old pregnancy claims. They are being rejected because of dx's 659.81, v23.83, v27.0. All young pregnancy codes. Can someone please advise what codes we are to use on an 11 year claims.

No her original claims were coded with v23.83. Her delivery claim was coded 658.91 and v27.0.

I was afraid of that. The stated age range for the codes in chapter 11 is 12-55. You will need to appeal for this one.

It is in my ICD-9 book in the tabular section. At the end of each code description it gives the age range. I use Channel Publishing Educational annotation ICD-9 CM and their ICD-10 CM.
