Aviacode is seeking remote medical coders to review and adjust claim scrubber outpatient edits for a large facility.

Reports to: Coding Supervisor/Manager
Employment Status: Remote Contracted (1099) Position
Pay: Negotiable

Responsibilities:
  • Working outpatient facility edits

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must have 3+ years of outpatient facility coding, or outpatient facility edit/billing experience
  • Understanding of Global Periods
  • Understanding of CCI, LCD and NCD edits
  • Understanding of edits for government and private payers
  • CPC (or equivalent) required
  • CEMC preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of coding in EPIC system a plus, not a requirement
  • Pass a coding test
  • Must have a windows based OS (not a MAC)

I have 10 years experience in coding, billing, auditing, payment posting, data entry, patient collections, and am an expert in Medicare AR reimbursements. I am currently certified with Practice Management Institute as a Certified Medical Coder, and I have completed my course and passed, with the AAPC for Certified Professional Medical Auditor. I have previous remote experience.
I am available weekends, and evenings, every day. My work station at home is 100% secure, and HIPAA compliant!
Aside from my certifications, my accomplishments include working my way up from Data Entry, to an Auditor. I returned $750,000 in lost revenue to a large medical group in Fresno, Ca, within a 4 month window. My AR percentage is under 9% in 120+ revenue.
I have excellent written communication skills, and many years experience with several billing and claims processing programs. Such as, Epic, Lytec, AdvantX, Allscripts, Cortex EDI, Encoder Pro, just to name a few.
I am currently a medical claims auditor for a payer, and audit approximately 25 charts per day. Surgical, and office claims.
I have worked in clinics, ASC Surgery Centers, and Hospitals.
