Is anyone using this code for this service? If so...are you getting paid for this? We cannot even find a fee schedule to bill for this to begin with?

we bill for those however they are commonly denied as experimental

We use to bill these out until we came across this publication from the AAOS. Now we bill rarely since they are usually part of a bigger procedure. Hope this helps

When we perform these - we collect them as self pay -

Even if you are collecting up front, you need to bill the Category III code of 0232T. First, the AMA used these "T" codes for tracking purposes, ie, is there really a need for a code for this procedure/service; and second, CMS tracks them in order to determine RVUs at some point if they do become a permanent code.
Just FYI as I know people wonder what the purpose of these codes are if they don't currently offer reimbursement. Some carriers do cover this code as well. You may want to look up coverage policies for your major carriers.
