Hi, everyone. I just want to alert all the CPC-A's out there looking for work like I am that I almost got scammed last week. The "company's" name is 316 Medical Solutions. They interviewed me for a CPC-A apprenticeship position wherein they stated they were using this as a way to train up their own new workforce. There were 2 people on the Teams interview, neither of whom were on camera. I was already suspicious, but the most obvious sign they were a scam was that, after the interview, I received an email stating that in order to move to the next level of interviews they required a copy of my driver's license and my agreement to a background check. They didn't provide me with any consent forms for the background check. I politely inquired as to why neither interviewer was on camera. I was informed that 1 of the interviewers had recently had a "small" cosmetic procedure on her nose and didn't want to appear on camera with her face black and blue.

Needless to say, all this was a dead giveaway. I immediately blocked all future emails, made sure I had my SSN monitoring turned on for my bank account and credit card, and froze my credit reports.

Just thought I'd share this information. Stay safe out there, everyone. Unfortunately, we CPC-A's are particularly vulnerable to these types of scams.
