Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is endoscopic inspection of the duodenum, the papilla of vater, followed by radiologic assessment of the pancreatic duct and the biliary tree. The physician also performs  stone destruction by any method (eg, mechanical, electrohydraulic, lithotripsy).
