Summary

This is a Proprietary Laboratory Analyses (PLA) code, meaning that the code applies to only one unique lab test made by a specific manufacturer or performed by a specific lab. Report 0474U only for GeneticsNow® Comprehensive Germline Panel from GoPath Diagnostics Inc. This test is a hereditary pan–cancer genomic sequence analysis that examines a panel of 88 genes associated with various inherited cancer syndromes, such as sarcomas, endocrine tumors, neuroendocrine tumors, and cutaneous melanoma. It employs next–generation sequencing (NGS) and Sanger sequencing to detect both sequence variants and 20 specific duplications or deletions in the genes, using either blood or saliva samples. The results are reported as positive or negative for each gene tested, indicating the presence or absence of germline variants that could predispose individuals to cancer.
