Question: My physician wants to report 92270 to describe saccadic testing during an electronystamography (ENG) procedure. I'm not quite sure we can do this. What is your advice? Florida Subscriber Answer: CPT® guidelines are clear on the issue of reporting CPT® code 92270 (Electro-oculography with interpretation and report) to describe saccadic testing during an ENG procedure. It states that providers should only use this code to document a standard test of the electrical potential created in a retina when exposed to light for vitelliform maculopathy. No-no:
