Industry Note:

Make This Change Now For Spanish Language CAHPS

Home health agencies and their vendors that haven’t updated CAHPS survey materials due to the correction in the use of the accent on the word “cuándo” in multiple questions should waste no time. The HHCAHPS Spanish language materials “have been posted to the website as standalone documents and as an appendix in the HHCAHPS Protocols and Guidelines Manual, v 11.0,” Medicare’s CAHPS contractor RTI says on the CAHPS website.

Reminder: “The accent was removed from the word ‘cuándo’ in Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q22, and Q23 and from the cover letters. The accent was retained on the word ‘cuándo’ in Q13 and Q15,” the contractor explains. “Please ensure that changes you are making to your Spanish materials reflect these corrections.”
