Are your hospice claims returning to provider (RTP) incorrectly for Core-Based Statistical Area (CBSA) number problems? You’re not alone.

Problem: Claims are RTPing for CBSA codes that were updated for FY 2017, which began Oct. 1, Palmetto GBA reports. “This does not affect all CBSA codes, only those which have transitioned from special 50xxx codes for FY 2017,” the HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor explains.

Solution: Palmetto is still researching the issue and “will provide an update as soon as available,” the MAC pledges. “No provider action is required at this time.”
