A typographical error appeared in the article "Watch Your Dx. for Liver Bx. Success," in General Surgery Coding Alert, Vol. 10, No. 12. The descriptor for 47001 that appears in the article is incorrect, and should not contain the word "percutaneous." The correct definition for 47001 is "Biopsy of liver, needle; when done for indicated purpose at time of other major procedure (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure)."
