Patient was seen for removal of vulvar lesion. Provider was not sure if this was a condyloma or skin tag so it was sent to pathology. Visit note states provider used sterile scissors for removal. There was no mention of size of the lesion removed in the notes.

We received the results from pathology and it confirmed it was a condyloma. Results also mention measurements of 0.4 x 0.3x 0.2 cm.

Would code 56605 or 11420 be more of an appropriate code for this?

Hi CGarcia
I d use the CPT 56605 since it is specific to area doctor did bx. Which dx are you going to use dx of D28.0 or A63.0 or N76.4 or N90.7? I hope helped you.

11420 also requires an incision, so would not be applicable for removal with a scissors.
