I know that if the patient is female and pregnancy I can use this code, but do I need another code to go with it if they are getting lab tests (carrier status screening and prenatal screening) or can this code be used by itself?

All else being normal, we use Z34.0x, Z34.8x, or Z34.9x. If labs are connected to a visit and there is another diagnosis, we use that diagnosis as reason for labs (because then it would not be a normal pregnancy, of course). I also see Z36 for antenatal screening, but we use that for ultrasound.

If the patient gets a positive pregnancy result at home but the office does not do the pregnancy test can we still bill the Z32.01 with an E&M?
