does anyone know what cpt 20999 for needling of calcified tendinitis of the shoulder would be compared too? I found something on google, but not sure if its correct. I was looking at cpt 97140 to compare 20999. anyone else use this code and what do you compare it to. thanks
 
Are you referring to barbotage? If you're able to provide a scrubbed procedure note, that would be helpful.
 
it is the barbotage technique.

I don't have a note to reference this. I am just trying to find out if 20999 would be appropriate and if it is what would be a comparable code for the unlisted. this is something the doctor is wanting to do. when I google this I get the 20999 for unlisted.
 
Barbotage is coded as a joint injection, since ultrasound was used, 20611. The procedure is repeated injection and aspiration.
