i am new ortho coding so any advice be helpful.
Can a injection code 20610 be coded Djd of the spine Is there reference that I can give the doctor to help clarify this matter. Thank you in advance

Some payers have coverage guidelines in place; that would be the best place to check--especially your MAC. Which joint is this in reference to?
 
For the lumber spine it is the SI joint. For the cervical spine I am not sure. I will need to get clarification from the doctor
 
M47.812 and M47.816 are for spondylosis w/o myelopathy, and not for any joint injections.

What type of injections are your physicians performing? Epidurals? Facets?
20610 is for Major joint injections such as Shoulder, Hip and Knee and will not pay if billed with those DX codes.
