If the Pediatrician seen a pt. for an Established Follow up, but noticed through Availity's tracker that his Visual Acuity Assessment hadn't been completed yet and she went ahead and did it on that same visit, would that be billed out as part of the office visit (even though it has a screening diagnosis code)? Currently I have the visit going out like this: 99214 (25) 919.4, 99173 V20.2. This just doesn't look accurate to me. Suggestions?

Have you tried billing V72.0 for the vision test? We do not bill them at my current office, but I've been researching it to see if we should be.

We just started billing hearing and vision in our pediatric office (located in California). I have found that when we bill 99173 with V20.2 it gets denied for invalid Dx. B/C seems to be covering it with Dx V72.0. Same thing for the hearing test code 92551 is covered with V72.19.
