I am going to start coding for Ortho, all types from care to surgeries. Can someone give me either a website or a guideline manual that I can refer to. Any help would be welcomed.

Your going to need access to the NCCI edits. We have this built in to "Encoder Pro" but you may have it in another program. Having Code-X from AAOS is helpful since it shows what services are included in a code or not. Other than that, Google is going to be your best friend. But keep in mind that CMS and AAOS vastly disagree on many key points. So you cannot code ortho without knowing the insurance company that you are billing. You will need to know which follow CMS and which don't. That will make a difference in the codes billed. This forum will be your best friend as well. I code primarily ortho surgeries other than spine, so if you want to email me direct, that would be fine for any questions.
