We do our own u/s in office. We have a doctor that orders it, but another doctor may read and sign off on the u/s. The ordering physician states that because he ordered it, it should be billed under him. I think that the physician who read and signed off on it should be the one to bill it.

I tried to search for information regarding this but having a hard time finding it. Can anyone help?

It takes no skill to order a test. It takes skill to read and interpret a test. I can't even believe he is saying he should bill for a test he didn't even do, just ordered. Does he bill for outside lab tests? Surgeries? After all, he ORDERED them.
