Hi,
I hope someone can suggest the cpt codes for the below procedure. I am not sure that I am capturing all the charges on this.
ULTRASOUND GUIDED GLENOHUMERAL SHOULDER
ARTHROGRAM INJECTION
CLINICAL INDICATION: Right Shoulder Pain
RISKS: Risks of the injection including bleeding, infection, damage to the underlying structures, and allergic reaction were discussed. All questions were answered and the patient wished to proceed with the injection.
TECHNIQUE: Under sterile conditions, an Esaote MyLabFive ultrasound laptop unit with a variable frequency (2.5-6.6 MHz) curvilinear transducer was used to localize the placement of a 22-gauge needle into the right intra-articular glenohumeral space from a posterior approach. A mixture of 5 cc of Optiray 320 ioversol contrast, 0.1 cc of Optimark gadoversetamide contrast, 10 cc of sterile saline and 5 cc of 1% lidocaine was injected. Total volume injected was 15cc.
FINDINGS:
1) Successful needle placement for right intra-articular shoulder injection.
2) The patient tolerated the procedure well, no complications
3) Fluoroscopy after injection confirmed intra-articular placement prior to MRI.
Thank you in advance!
Micki
