I am new to psychiatric coding/auditing and I'd like to reach out to you more knowledgable experts regarding a coding scenario we have with our inpatient pysch providers.
The situation is the providers request a Millon test. Pt is given a questionnaire, the questionnaire is then input into the computer by one of our staff members. A report is provided, our docs go over the report and continue treatment with patient. Previously they were billing this with the CPT code 96102. This does not seem right to me. Is this even a billable service? Can they instead use the 96103?
I greatly appreciate any input you can give.
