Can someone tell me what is the rule for injections and modifiers. For example, my doctor did a bilateral injection for monoarthritis. I billed 20600-RT and 20600-LT. Would the second injection need a mod 59? The injections were done during a office visit.
 
In my experience, LT and RT (or 50) is sufficient. I use a modifier 59 or XS if same injection/aspiration done on same side to different joints.
