Patient had a Microdiscectomy done in January.
Now he is going back for an I&D and wound closure. He tore his wound open. So would this be still in active treatment and be code as an A or would this be a D.

Any help would be appreciated.

Even if the original surgery were due to injury, this does not appear to be part of the injury process, this looks like a surgical complication. So depending on how the documentation reads, if this is active treatment for a surgical wound dehiscence, then you would use the A.
