Wiki Hospitalists asked to consult in the ED with subsequent day encounters

If a hospitalist is asked to consult for a pt in the ED, I am using the appropriate E&M crosswalk depending on the pt's insurance. If the pt remains in the ED for several days waiting for a bed in a SNF and the hospitalist goes and sees them everyday, what would be the appropriate code to bill those subsequent encounters? Any info will be appreciated and resources I can use as authoritative documentation as well.
