I am new to neuro psych coding. Normally I would code axis 1 dx's first. On this dr, she has for example cognitive DO as Axis1, then none for axis 2, and for axis 3 she may have brain tumor.
Rightfully, which do I code as prime? I normally would have thought axis one, but when I spoke to her, she seemed to indicate being uncomfortable billing a mental health diagnosis. Is it an industry standard for this type of thing to use a more medical code vs mental health, even tho the dr is a neuropsychologist?
