Wiki EMG/NCS done separately

I need help! Medicare denying the NCS done on a separate day than the EMG. The patient was on blood thinners so they were separated. Medicare paid the EMG but denying the NCS as not medically necessary. I do now know why. Can someone please give me their input? thanks in advance

Check your regions's LCD's. Typically, NCS done without EMG are considered not medically necessary, with a few exceptions...suspected carpal tunnel with strong clinical evidence prior to testing...and a few others that I can't remember at the moment. But it's all in the LCD.
